People tell me that straight cis women writing (cis) m/m aren't all appropriative assholes. But as karnythia and Avalon's Willow lay out, they are doing a fucking good job of seeming that way atm.

Note that she was attacked by ciswomen who lived in the same project. How about the rape and attempted murder of a transwoman in Trinidad, CO… this story has disappeared off the news after a two brief mentions in a Pueblo newspaper.
How about the brutal gang rape of transwoman rapper Pam Jones… again virtually unreported (and often mockingly referred to in hiphop blogs).
The Ibarra case has received coverage, but mostly local coverage. It’s still way ahead of some of these other cases.
